At Finway Sportfishing, we customize our Miami deep-sea fishing charters for each individual trip, ensuring your experience on board is exactly what you want. You choose the details, and we’ll provide the action on the water!

Trip length: half-day (4-hour), three-quarter day (6-hour) or full-day (8-hour) trips available
Passengers: The Finway can take up to six people per trip
The fish: Sailfish, snapper, tuna, mahi-mahi, shark, grouper, wahoo, cobia, kingfish, barracuda and more!
What’s included: Everything you need for fishing — rods, reels, bait, tackle, licensing and your friendly and experienced crew
What you should bring: sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, snacks and drinks

About the Captain

Captain Joe has always had a connection with the water. Born in Hawaii and growing up in a coastal fishing village in Massachusetts, he practically has salt in his blood.

Captain Joe earned his first dollar on the water at age 13, learning the techniques and philosophy of fishing on his uncle Tom’s lobster boat. From there, he moved on to catch striped bass, codfish, tuna and shark in the northern waters. But after many great catches in the Massachusetts bay, Captain Joe decided to leave the cold weather behind and moved to Miami to fish year-round. He spent years becoming an expert in the waters of South Florida, working on the best charter boats in the area. Today, he boasts 16 years of fishing experience. He’s also experienced in fishing tournaments, competing in local sailfish and dolphin tournaments as well as wahoo and blue marlin tournaments in The Bahamas.

But for Captain Joe, every day is a tournament. You’ll notice his passion for charter fishing as soon as you meet him. Ask him what his favorite fish is, and he’ll reply, “Whatever’s on the end of my line.” Though he knows many techniques, he believes live bait, light tackle fishing is the only way it should be done in Miami. Preferring exciting action and high numbers, live bait kite fishing is not just Captain Joe’s preferred method of fishing — it’s his specialty. When you’re fishing on The Finway, you’ll be using the same techniques as Joe would in a tournament, fishing with and against the best in the world. But you don’t need to be a fishing expert — Joe’s favorite thing is helping a beginner catch his first trophy fish.

About the Boat

The Finway is the perfect platform for live bait, light tackle sportfishing. Custom built in Key West, the 40-ft. vessel can reel ‘em in anywhere from the back waters to the Gulf Stream. The Finway features three live wells and a custom-built “rocket launcher.” Captain Joe uses the latest technology and a high tuna tower to literally see the fish before they bite. And our twin turbo diesel engines get you to the fish quickly and comfortably.

When you’re ready to relax, our comfortable day bed-style seating is the perfect place to soak up some sun with a cold drink. But you’ll never miss anything — the open layout of The Finway ensures that you’re a part of the action even when you’re comfortably reclined. You’ll also have access to a clean and private “head” on board.
